El hecho es que esta semana el Consejo Regulador del Cava ha presentado sus resultados comerciales de 2012 que indican que las ventas en España han disminuido un 6,28% sobre el año anterior. Estos resultados han recordado lo acontecido en 2005 cuando con motivo de unas declaraciones de Josep Lluís Carod-Rovira (ERC) en contra de la candidatura olímpica de Madrid, se produjo el llamado boicot que supuso la caída de 6,59% de las ventas de cava en el resto de España.
La realidad es que la identificación del cava con Catalunya es evidente. Resulta muy fácil y nada imaginativo ante cualquier cabreo hacia algún político catalán, arrearle estacazo a los productores de este excelente espumoso. Estos bodegueros lo saben y además del natural temor, poco más pueden hacer. Que nadie dude de que si un gremio tiene claro la locura de la desvinculación con España es el industrial y que, sin estridencias, mueven todos los hilos posibles y esto, más temprano que tarde, tendrá su eficacia.
El boicot al cava catalán no solamente es caro –un champagne francés cuesta más euros-, sino que además es injusto. ¿Quién les asegura a ustedes que la gente de Ciutadans no tiene producción de cavas? Seamos racionales y prácticos, yo al menos no estoy dispuesto a tirar piedras en mi propio tejado, si algún día me enfado con los políticos de Extremadura no la tomaré con el jamón, no me conviene, en todo caso les pondré a ellos directamente a caer de un burro. P.D: Por cierto cuantas más regiones hagan espumosos y de calidad, mejor. Anda que no hay clientes potenciales en España y en el mundo…

Cavas, como usted sabe no sólo se elaboran en Cataluña, sino que desde que empezaran a elaborarse en Extremadura allá por los años ochenta, su elaboración se extiende a otras regiones españolas, y con notable acierto en la elaboración que ofrecen unos excelentes cavas. Sin embargo, habremos de reconocer que la «capital española del cava» es San Sadurní de Noya. Como se cambia según van los vientos en la política, o según intereses, vaya usted a saber. En el año 2009 gobernaba el ayuntamiento de Sant Sadurní D’anoia en grupo político Catalán PSC , cuando abrieron la consulta de independentismo de esa comarca (presentada por ERC) los resultados fueron los que casi cuatro años después sorprenden, votos a favor AMI- PSC que dice ser federalista, en contra, aquí esta la rareza CIU y por supuesto el PP que en aquel entonces como hoy dijeron que esa consulta no era competencia de Cataluña, y mucho menos de la comarca, todo es política, mercadeo experimental. Yo pienso y es mi opinión, que hacerle el boicot a los productos de algunas regiones CCAA por culpa de las decisiones nefastas de sus político no va de recibo ni es ético ni políticamente correcto ( boicotear ). Cataluña sigue siendo España.

El boicot al cava catalán solo es caro para las bodegas catalanas, algunas de las cuales apoyan el independentismo.
